Select text on any page. A quiet floating button saves it straight into your hilight library — and your clipboard, if you want.
Select text, tap save. The highlight lands in your library with the source URL, title, and a timestamp.
Group highlights by topic, project, or reading session. Share folders with people you read alongside.

Chrome doesn't let extensions auto-install from outside the Web Store, so we load it as an unpacked folder. Takes about a minute.
Grab the extension package using the button below. It's small — about 30 KB — and contains the manifest, popup, and content script.

Double-click the downloaded file (or right-click → Extract). Put the resulting hilight-extension folder somewhere you won't accidentally delete — like Documents.

Paste chrome://extensions into your address bar. Then flip the Developer mode toggle in the top-right corner.

Click Load unpacked (top-left) and select the unzipped hilight-extension folder. hilight will appear in your extensions list.

Click the puzzle icon in Chrome's toolbar and pin hilight. Then generate a connection token below and paste it into the popup.
